Stephen believes he has the necessary qualities to represent the people of South Basildon and East Thurrock: determination, energy, stamina, an ability to get on with people from all walks of life and all backgrounds, combined with a strong sense of purpose and an ability not only to listen, but to hear.
Stephen subscribes to the view that a Parliamentary candidate should be honest and demonstrate integrity in everything they do: he respects the people he wishes to serve - whatever their background - and puts duty and responsibility before self-interest.
As Conservatives we are focusing on what matters - hospitals, standards in schools, practical measures to improve people's quality of life.
Our party is greener, more local, more family-friendly and less arrogant - we realise that politicians don't have all the answers. So on issues like crime, and making life better for families, we don't just ask what government can do. We ask what people can do, what society can do. That's what social responsibility is all about.
Labour had good intentions. But they have let people down. Taxes have been wasted and local services cut. With the Government now divided and paralysed, they don't have the answers to the problems people face. A
Unfortunately Tony Blair has lost so much authority that it's in the national interest he should go.
